The Evening When Everything Mattered at Once

WuselMo appears in Leo's room for the very first time – and Leo discovers that ten minutes may sound long, but can go by surprisingly quickly.

“Leo! Bedtime in ten minutes!” Mum called.

Ten minutes.

Leo looked around his room.

Ten minutes was a long time.

He could quickly finish his spaceship. Draw the dragon's second foot in his picture. Find the green dinosaur. And he still had to tidy up, after all.

He could manage all that. Surely.

Leo picked up a building block.

Then he noticed the red pencil. The dragon! Just one quick second foot.

But as Leo reached for the pencil, he spotted a sock under his bed. He'd rather put that away first.

03

So Leo crawled under the bed.

There he found the sock. And a bouncy ball. And – at last! – his green dinosaur.

Leo had just forgotten why he'd crawled under the bed when he heard a noise.

A mysterious rustling comes from the laundry basket
04

Rustle … rustle. Leo held still.

Scrunch. Rustle, rustle.

The laundry basket wobbled, first to the right, then to the left. Then a sock flew out.

05

And with a loud PLOP … something orange landed in the middle of the room.

06

Shaggy fur. Enormous ears. A curly tail.

Leo stared at it. It stared back.

Then it pointed at itself and simply said: “WuselMo.”

It didn't seem to think any further explanation was needed.

Leo meets WuselMo
07

WuselMo had already discovered Leo's room. And there was an incredible amount to see.

The spaceship. The dragon. The bouncy ball. The dinosaur.

WuselMo dashed from one thing to the next. Leo followed – and suddenly, all the things that had been lying around seemed full of possibilities.

08

The half-built spaceship could become an entire space station.

The dragon didn't just need a second foot. It needed fire. And perhaps wings.

And the blanket on Leo's bed …

Of course. A den!

09

WuselMo's ears shot up. That was clearly the best idea of the whole evening.

Chairs were moved.

The blanket landed on the floor.

Building blocks rolled under the desk.

The dinosaur moved into the new den.

And somewhere in between, the sock disappeared again.

Every new idea seemed to bring another one.

Building a den adds to the chaos

And as the room grew wilder, WuselMo began to change too.

His fur puffed up. The orange glowed more brightly. Turquoise, yellow and pink streaks suddenly shimmered between the tufts.

Bigger.Fluffier.More colourful.

The more chaotic the room became, the bigger WuselMo grew.

Until an enormous, glowing, shaggy WuselMo stood in the middle of Leo's room.

Then the door opened.

Mum stopped.

Leo stopped.

Even WuselMo stopped.

Mum looked around the room. At the chairs. The blanket. The building blocks. The dinosaur. And finally at Leo.

12

Leo looked around too. Ten minutes ago, his room hadn't really looked so bad.

Now it looked as if a little whirlwind had swept through it. A very fluffy whirlwind.

Leo explained that he had meant to tidy up. Mum couldn't help smiling. Even so, she decided, that was enough for today. The mess could wait until tomorrow. Now it was time to brush his teeth and go to bed.

13

Later, Leo lay under his blanket.

The spaceship wasn't finished. The dragon still had only one foot. Half the den had fallen down. And plenty of work lay on the floor, waiting for tomorrow.

WuselMo had curled up beside Leo. He had become smaller again. His fur lay more softly against his body. The wild glow had faded and his colours were calmer too.

For a while, it was quiet.

Then WuselMo whispered, “The den tomorrow?” Leo opened one eye. WuselMo grinned. Leo grinned back. Maybe. Then he pulled the blanket higher and closed his eyes. Ten minutes had passed more quickly than Leo had expected.

Sometimes, ten minutes were just ten minutes.

And that was okay.

Wusel mistake hunt

What has the AI muddled up this time?

My pictures are made with the help of artificial intelligence. Not every little detail stays the same — so I’ve turned those mix-ups into a spotting game.

Look through the story again: what has changed from picture to picture?

Wusel detectives, look closely!

Why does AI make mistakes like these?

🕵️ For little Wusel detectives

AI makes each picture from scratch, a bit like drawing it all over again. That means a tiny detail might change when it should stay the same. So look closely: AI can make mistakes in pictures, words and answers. Check things yourself, or ask a grown-up to help.

🔎 For grown-up Wusel companions

AI generates each picture afresh, using descriptions and reference images. It does not automatically preserve every detail from the previous picture. Colours, objects, clothes and small shapes can change even when they should stay the same. Careful instructions and checking help, but they do not always prevent every mismatch. That’s why I turn these little mix-ups into a game to explore together.

Ready to explore a little more?

Tap a question for a little idea to talk about.

Which of Leo and WuselMo's ideas did you like best?

Any idea can be your favourite. The den was especially exciting: a simple blanket suddenly became a new place to play.

Why do you think WuselMo grew bigger and more colourful?

WuselMo felt all the ideas and the growing muddle around him, so he grew along with it. When Leo became calm later, WuselMo became small again and his colours grew softer.

What could Leo do first tomorrow?

In the morning, Leo could look around calmly and think: what do I really want to finish today? Then he chooses one thing – and everything else can wait a little longer.

Another adventure?
